Sunday Morning Assembly
The big event each week is the Sunday morning
assembly. This is when the entire family meets for worship and mutual
encouragement. We are committed to conducting our services in a
way that is clearly authorized in the Bible. Though our personal
tastes and preferences may vary, by obeying Scripture we can be
sure that what we do is what God wants. Listed below is the typical
breakdown of what to expect each Sunday morning.
| Lord's Supper |
Each baptized believer is expected
to observe the Lord's Supper each Sunday. New Testament example
and the fundamental nature of the Lord's death and resurrection
will not let us do less (Acts 20.7; 1 Corinthians 11.23-26).

|
Offering |
Every Sunday, members are invited to contribute financially
to support the activities of the family (1 Corinthians 16.1-2).
This is, basically, the only source of income of our family.
If our guests care to contribute, that's fine, but it's not
necessary nor is it expected. |
| Preaching |
The sermon will last 20-30 minutes, and is
intended to present Bible teaching that will guide and strengthen
family members throughout the week. |
| Singing |
Everyone is invited to sing. This privilege
is not limited at any time to a select group or choir. Since
the New Testament never mentions instrumental accompaniment
for the hymns sung by Christians, we follow that example. A
cappella singing has a unique beauty, and is truly praise from
the heart of each participant. |
| Prayers |
Prayers will be led that express to God thoughts
that concern the entire group. We make a special effort to pray
for the personal needs, both physical and spiritual, of family
members. |
|
Announcements |
In a family, sharing news is important. Items
such as congregational events, personal items and prayer needs
are shared with the family. |
