The need to design a product is different for different needs. It has assorted discipline around the creation of all that we take for granted as from toasters to cars and from office chairs to coffee cups. A new type of product that could be said to be mostly challenging to designers is IT / furnishings accessories and in particular chains for monitors. These goods have emerged as new ideas during the last 15 years approximately to get better the experience of using expertise from a human and technical point of view.
The foundation of using a flat screen monitor arm as opposed to the stand supplied by screen producers is that the arm permits movement of the monitor to suit the user. In addition to up and down movement to regulate the screen to the correct height, the monitors can be moved further closely to the computer user and slanted for accuracy viewing or the escaping of screen glare. Monitors can be through to sweep or swing across a desk, thus the name "SWING ARM" is also regularly used interchangeably to explain a "monitor" or "flat screen arm".
It is a challenge for the swing arm designer to create a new product with that concept which can fulfill a tricky combination of functions. It is also challenge for designer to design an object which improves generally visual of an interior. The design of place of work interiors has become more and more valued during modern age, to the scope that the look of these products is now as significant to those who identify and purchase them as their functionality. Though, it is not just about fashion: HR experts and switched-on managers welcome the positive advantages with an appealing, stylish interior and well designed furniture with the accessories which can have on employee motivation, retention and recruitment.
A swing or flat screen arm is a strange and complicated product area to design for, creating genuine challenges for the product designer. Evaluate for instance the different deliberations in the design of a mobile phone: there are many design issues to imagine about but first and principally it is a matter of casing. The bottom of the design brief is to enfold the technology in an appealing outer wrapper.
While a monitor or swing arm has to shift in each direction; there are different and multifaceted joints and devices and they have to hold a major and erratic load. All this, while maintaining their ease and clarity from a visual point of view. These types of products actually push the edge between design and engineering. Certainly in many cases those who design these products have qualified or have a strong grip of both disciplines. These types of products could even be said to be pure of design, in the logic that nothing is superfluous. There is a strong human superiority too with the apparent anatomical references to the "arms" that hold flat screen monitors.
